Stephen Lual Ngor, a member of the Transitional National Legislative Assembly, has commended President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s recent diplomatic engagement with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, describing it as a significant step in strengthening South Sudan’s regional and international standing.Speaking on the meeting held in Pretoria, Stephen said the engagement reflects a strategic leadership approach aimed at positioning the country ahead of the planned December 2026 elections.

He noted that President Kiir’s commitment to the timeline sends a strong signal of national resolve to advance democratic processes and implement the transitional roadmap under the revitalized peace agreement.Hon.Stephen also highlighted the government’s willingness to cooperate with South Africa on technical and logistical aspects of the elections, saying it demonstrates readiness to deliver a credible electoral process.

On the economic front, he welcomed the President’s invitation to South African investors, describing it as a move that could boost key sectors including mining, oil, tourism, and air transport.He reiterated his support for President Kiir’s leadership and called on stakeholders to unite behind efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace, stability, and development.
